So for this project I chose to do photography. In this piece I took multiple shots involving different angles. This one being my favorite. I really was pleased with the amount of contrast I was able to convey as it changed the entire look and feel of the piece as a whole. I tried to play around with using reflections as an aspect to some of my photography, as I did in this piece, which turned out a lot better than expected. I also enjoyed the value in the photo since there are very light spots very close to darker parts of the piece. I took this picture at an art museum after I had found a photo I liked very much and stood in front of the picture (hence you seeing my reflection) along with all of the other pieces in the background.
This picture also has a nice effect on the way I view it, and possibly with how others perceive it also. For example, someone might think that this photo was photo shopped (which it was not) or maybe not and be curious as to how the photo was taken along with where it was taken. This photo makes me think about the meaning behind it as everything is literally fading into each other. One might wonder why there is a person walking behind the girl in the photo (me) or why there is a map near him, or a chair. The road and the place where the girl is standing both connect together, what might that symbolize? I just love how much thought you can put into question as to the meaning behind this piece. It's so much more than just a photo to me, which is why I absolutely love it.
Overall, if I had to say my favorite parts about this piece it would be the meaning behind it, the contrast and values incorporated, along with how everything fades and blends into each aspect so well. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to incorporate reflection more so in my pieces as I did in this one.
