For this project I chose photography. Also, this project is a part of my concentration pieces. My concentration being repetition of lines and shapes in nature. For example, there is much repetition with the shapes of the petals on the flowers as there are repetition of the same types of flowers in the back ground. I absolutely love this piece, for many reasons. Photography in general has always been a passion of mine, and every photo turns out different than I expect.
Aspects such as the lighting and shadows change in every shot of a specific scene I take, and this one turned out very well. The lighting hit in the best place, being the largest flower. This provided much contrast to the other flowers in the background, as they had more shadows than light. I also loved the colors that popped out from the flowers, the red tones and green background worked out very well since they are complementary colors. I also liked how the flower had parts of it that were drying out which made the texture of the flower to have more variety, although it did incorporate repetition very well.
Overall if I had to critique this piece and could do it again, I would try to incorporate more layers into the photo as there was a foreground middle ground and background, but the photo was cropped to make the piece look better, which in tern cropped most of the middle ground (the flower directly below the largest one) but still the piece as a whole turned out very well.
